Crock Pot Ham – Third of Five Recipes for January
written by Betty Lynch |
We are getting some winter temperatures this year, which I dearly love. With the winter weather outside it reminds me to pull out my crock pot and create all kinds of warm comfort food. I honestly don’t know what I would do without my crock pot . I use it year round. I love one pot meals that all you have to do is add a salad and you are ready to eat. I work full time so I love the thought of getting home and dinner is almost ready. Using your crock pot will save you money. It really is cheaper to cook a meal at home than stop for take -out food.
Here is my third recipe for this month.
Crock Pot Ham
1 fully cooked ham, about 3 pounds
4 cups (32 ounces) apple cider or apple juice
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon allspice
dash nutmeg
Place all ingredients in crock pot including ham with enough cider to cover into your crock pot and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours.
