Get A Picasso Masterpiece Painted By Your Own Grandchildren

written by Sharon Pierce McCullough

Wow! What could be more impressive than a large scale painting by your grandkids . This is a project that can be painted over the course of a weekend or a “ work in progress ” that can be added to over the years.

Our painting started with a large piece of canvas that was supposed to be my own painting but it wasn’t going too well and I just left it in the closet for about a year. I pulled it back out when the first of our grandkids came to visit this summer. Each successive grandkid that has visited has now put their mark on the painting so far.

It’s a great project for outside. We just roll out the canvas , in the grassy area of the backyard, put a paintshirt on the kids and supply them with paints, brushes and some water. They have been having a great time and I’m sure they will remember it for a long time to come, especially when the painting makes it onto the wall one day.

The most fun part is that the kids can paint anything they want and the collaboration will make it really unique. I can’t wait to see the finished product. And if they want to keep painting on it, that’s all the more fun. Another option to painting on a big canvas is to choose a small little wall somewhere in your house that is the “painting” wall. Let kids paint a little extra each time they visit … what could be more fun!!
